i got a, well i got two cpu's that just beep..one is a dell precision 340 which is a desktop, and the other is a HP pavilion both with Pentium 4 processor and when i turn it on(both individually) it just starts beeping nothing shows up on the monitor..does any one know what this means

do you think its cuz of bad memory i have 512 mb memory that i just recently installed can it be that
Get your motherboards manual out. It should tell you what the beeps mean (it varies depending on amount, length of beeps, etc.)

Sounds like bad memory as said. How many beeps? There are numerous websites that tell you the beep codes for a BIOS, look for one :)

damn i still cant get these two cpu's to work fuck man i got my laptop working thanks to michael waller your a pro but man these cpu are shit any one need parts i take paypal holla at me
look up the beep codes for the two models, it could mean a couple of things. Usually hardware related like bad memory/vid card or the likes.
how do i look for beep codes any one know

One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem

Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error

Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error

Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps CPU Overheating



i hope its useful for you guys who might need it...
cpu do dont beep. the motherboard does. it indicates a problem such as over heat or hardware malfunction.
