My great friend and fellow geek Gordon Keenan unboxed and reviewed the Magic Trackpad. He recently left Geeks and now has been on a roll with Apple stuff. The people in denial pushed him over the edge.

Seriously, guys? WTF? Our friend is dealing with serious Apple-itis and you are "busy" rating each other's music?
whats up wit him? i dnt get it. pushed him away, how?
FFS It's a joke. An inside joke, but a joke nevertheless.
Gordon didn't leave he's just busy, if i know gordon he's Vice versa, He uses all sorts of products from more then just one company. Gordon is not the type of person who is a hardcore apple cultist where unless it doesn't have apple's logo he won't buy it lol :P
Huh, thats interesting.
It's like a laptop mouse pad, wireless of course.

Hopefully their selling it for a reasonable price.
to bad it needs batteries lol.

He did leave though.

The Magic Trackpad is the next puck mouse for Apple. It's a complete failure. They replaced half the mice in the Apple store in Chicago with the trackpads and they are IMPOSSIBLE to be productive on. I'm sorry, but trackpads were designed to get rid of roller balls in laptops, and they work fine... in laptops. On a desktop, you use a mouse. A trackpad is there just as an emergency mouse interface. They say they want to bring it to the desktop because their mobile users love their trackpads so much... Well yes. Their trackpads are wonderful in comparison to every other trackpad in computers. But that doesn't mean that people don't want to use mice with their laptops, and that definitely doesn't mean that their desktop users want to use them. Can you imagine trying to do video editing or 3D work or gaming with a freaking trackpad? And SEVENTY DOLLARS!? SERIOUSLY!?

Apple needs to get their heads out of their asses and realize that trackpads SUCK. The Magic Mouse is spectacular and definitely worth the $70, but a huge-ass trackpad that has a very click-happy button is NOT worth it. I wouldn't even pay $20 for it.
Track pads are not a great replacement for the mouse. In my experience, you don't have anything like the control and you cannot do any fine work.
