I have installed on Microsoft Virtual PC, the Windows 7 beta build 7000. The only problem is I can't get audio when I try to watch a video from YouTube. Does anyone know what I could possibly do? Is there a driver I could download?

my windows 7 beta also has audio problems. Well the system audio works, it install my sound card drivers automatically, but when i play a game, or try to use slingbox the audio does not come through. i was thinking to try and disable the onboard sound card and try again, but that doesnt seem to make sence because the system sound works, just not in my desired application.. Just starting to look into it.. No audio is a deal breaker, if i cant get it to work soon, i'll just go back to vista.
I found a button in control panel, search for problems. And i selected my PCI card, it did something, and when finished it said fixed. device not set as default. Now my sound works in my apps!... i guess i will keep windows 7 beta around for a little longer...
Please elaborate to this. I have the same problem. I load up a game, the intro sound doesn't work, but the menu and ingame sounds ( guns, yelling, explosions) work. The mission briefing sound cut-scene doesn't work. Is it DivX? I've tried this game (Frontlines : Fuel of War) on Vista and the audio is fine, but I want to be able to play it on Windows 7. My audio drivers are up to date.
I have no audio problem whatsoever on XP. It is even better Quality on XP.
I found that relying on out-of-the-Windows-box software will lead to disappointing results. Instead, try your Vista drivers or the latest from your audio-board manufacturer.

What's your chip or audio controller ?
How old is your pc ?
What does messing around in device manager do ?
What does Windows update say ?
You should use the send feedback button about this so that Microsoft can get you a compatible driver.
Sorry about the previous post, i did not notice you said Virtual PC . It will probably never work like that.
Do a full install.
I agree with 9swords. Because you are running it using Virtual PC it will never have sound. You need to install it properly and install your sound driver as well.

Take care.

Missing drivers.
is this issue over? i just switch from xp to win7. i did not try vista coz i heard a lot of problems and compatibility issues, and when i heard about win7 updated version of vista and read a lot of good comments about it i just tried and amaze about it but had some prob on audios but solved it immediately because of the ff link:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?langid=1&am...
I went to that link downloaded the drivers and kept getting an error
go to start tab in the lower right, go to control panel, click on hardware and sound, there should be a button in there that says analize problem or something like that for your sound drive. This is amazing because it serches your computer and online and from what people say online it works most of the time.

before i did this i tryed to install drivers but kept gitting this error "Windows x64 driver (Rtkvac64.sys) not found!"

After that my sounds still didnt work but drivers were atleast installed. I had copyed over all my old Realtek files onto an external drive and was able to open up the Realtek program via that. After opening the program everything started to work fine... sorry i cant find a solution for all you out there that dont have the program on an external drive but hopfully this gets you a step closer.
