More Information

Hi everyone.  Long time not here but I know where to come for help.

I was using my computer when a browser window pops up and tells me that I have all of these problems that need to be done flushed. :)  I am thinking thatAVG does not work this way.  I feel this is a hack of some kind.

I will show the page.

Oops, I just remembered that I do have AVG as an addon since I am using Firefox.

When I scanned my computer, this is what it showed.

Can someone explain this to me?  The scan I did shows more than what the first one did.  Plus, why can't AVG remove or heal the last three?

As always, I appreciate your help.

Hugs for everyone.

this is fake.

CodeName Vista virus. Though windows XP is the most vulnerable System, And is often seen in windows vista as well. Most people will never come across this false pop-up, which is made to Look like a legit scan result of your computer, but is simply not, if you had that many security threats on your computer you wouldn't even get the chance to know the momment you restarted your machine.

Windows Vista and 7 Users are generally likely to not see this as much as XP Users, I've never seen this with 7 period, once with vista, and Quiet a few times with SP3 on XP. The only treated i've given for this virus is system restore, or attempted removal, which is not always successful, with use of backups and windows repair discs.

Im surprised it's still going around.

Do not Download anything that it asks you to.

You are not infected, but once you download the software your infected, Mind as well begin running system restore or backups, because the virus is not removable once it infects your windows.

if you have not downloaded anything, which i am hoping you didn't then you are fine.

And if this scan you did was from a legit download from a trusted source such as AVG's official security protected website, and you are seeing 3 infected items, they are likely quartined, if they cannot be quartined or removed, Install a free Anti-virus system Such as Microsoft Security essentials or Avast Home (Free) edition. After doing this remove AVG (Do not remove your old security software without a new one in place, and fully setup and ready. This you can do if you cannot remove these 3 infected files. They are most likely Malware of some sort.

Can you provide information the 3 unhealed items?

-Glad to assist you, and stay safe.

Thank you. I forgot to mention that I am running Windows 7.  Not being too trusting, I did not download anything as it had an EXE. extention.  That was enough to make me feel uncomfortable.  That is when I ran my own AVG that I have installed on my computer.

The three not removed are \APP\DATA\ROAMING\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xtkvpr6g.default\cookies.sqlite:\dealtime.com48a2428c

Potentially dangerous object.

Infection:  Tracking cookies

I have seen this one other time but now, I can't remember what I did.

I have been looking for airline tickets and wonder since it said Deal Time if I may have picked it up there.  I love AVG as it get almost everything that comes my way.  In most cases, it tells me on the spot.

Tracking cookies lol.

Should be easily removable.

Thanks.  As a rule it removes them.  Oh well looks like I need another program to do that as well.  Used to be that I had another but this new AVG has been great.
