Calling all Xmarks bookmark sync users to "Pledge to pay" to save the service.
I have been using Xmarks for a year now and there isn't anything out there that syncs bookmarks on multiple browsers (FireFox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, IE, Safari) and computers (Windows; Mac OS X; Linux) and am upset about them shutting down the service in January 2011.
I LOVE the little thumbnails on my Google searches and the category ranking. As I find it really futile to search on Google cause there is just tooooo much dang results. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack. I did a search on “webdesign” and 3 of the first 10 results are sites that I regularly use. This makes everything more relevant for me. The whole out-of-sight-out of mind thing which is so great about the program.
I sent Todd Agulnick the Co-Founder and CTO of Xmarks, Inc. a message on Facebook and he personally responded, so they are really looking at our feedback.
So please read the announcement blog post http://blog.xmarks.com/?p=1886
Then the latest blog post, http://blog.xmarks.com/?p=1945 and take the pledge on http://www.pledgebank.com/XmarksPremium if you would genuinely pay $10 / year for Xmarks.
Lastly share this information with your friends on Geeks, Facebook and Twitter.
