So a few years back i had a Galaxy S Vibrant, that i bought from one carrier, and decided i wanted to use it on another. So i had it unlocked from a website online. Cost a little more then most people would ask but it was cheap Quick, very responsible, and it worked great!
Problem is i could never seem to get good service on the phone at all anymore no matter what i tried. The phone was previously rooted before from 2.2 to 2.3 as the update wasn't available yet, This was a stupid move but it was fixed and put back on a Samsung up to date version of 2.3.6. This didn't solve the problem, the problem was whenever you left your home town the phone would loose service and not pick up anywhere else. This is Not a service provider problem becus we have other phones on the same network that have service literally all over the country!.
So my question is, Does Unlocking your Cell phone cause this? or was their just something literally wrong with the phone. As i mean most devices these days are offered unlocked (especially where i live) and i don't see anybody else having this particular problem.
The plan it was on, was also covered for for State wide use to. None of the plans affect where it can pick up service.
I am asking advice on this because i am considering switching back to android from an iPhone (For personal Reasons i want to keep to myself) to an Android device, but the phone i am after is not being offered by my carrier, and they have been very good to me so i want to use them still, and my only option may be an Unlock.

Although I gotta say I had a Vibrant before, and after it was unlocked. Omg. I tell you
getting service outside of the city was Brutal, With any carrier i chose.
