Geek Out!

More Information

I'm interested in acquiring an improved sound-system.  I'm currently using a MacBook alongside some stock eMachine speakers.  I've began my quest of research, and am curious what the Geeks community recommends?

I'm interested in spending less than $150.

I'm also thinking about getting a nice audio-system for the television in the living room (we're currently using the TV's built-in, only).  I'll happily take recommendations for this, too.

Thank you so much, Geeks community!

I tried a lot of speakers, don't waste your money (and time) on the cheap stuff.

Try the harman cardon soundstick II.

If you look for reviews, you will even find a hifi-freak, testing this set against a €60.000,- class A set.
In favour for the soundstick!

Yours,
Patrick
Thank you for the recommendation. I have noticed the HC Soundstick II's mentioned prevalently throughout speaker-reviews and forums. They do seem to be excellent, according to those who have used them.
my logitech x530's were only like 100AUD... their not bad for their price range their 5.1, the x540's have a matrix decoder and aux ports though and costs a little more...
my mate had a realy good set of altec Lansing speakers, as far as i know their alright aswell...
