2) Wait 1/2 hours min, 3 hours max with the spinning wheel
3) If nothing, reinstall OS X

Permalink Reply by JS on February 7, 2011 at 8:10am I kind of prefer the gray interface. It helps me concentrate on the task I'm at. For example, my mind is not drawn away from my schoolwork, writing, etc., but I am rather concentrated on what I need to do, not what my OS looks like.
But I do agree, the interface *is* rather outdated. I, personally, would welcome a major UI change. But nothing colorful, a nice grayish design is most relaxing for me.
BUT the Apple Pro Apps (Final Cut Studio, Logic Studio at least) colour scheme – light gray is very, very depressing, and rather ugly. I strongly prefer After Effects' interface default colour scheme.

Permalink Reply by JS on February 7, 2011 at 8:11am What I suggest is NEVER use a time machine backup, and ALWAYS to a clean install. This helps eliminate all sorts of headaches and issues.
You can always copy your important information over manually.
