Ever have one of those fanboy discussions that start off good, maybe even have mutual agreements, and then all of a sudden one thing leads to another, un involved people get in, and thing's drastically turn into yelling and screaming and unnecessary conflict?

Do you even care? like for example that old PS3 versus Xbox 360 thing i care Nothing about, I own both and i am happy. But even i can admit I've had a few out of hand feuds over the whole MAC Vs Windows Debate, but i of course tend to feel guilty even if that person threw things out of hand and i didn't, i would always feel like this did not need to happen over something so silly really. All that angry and disagreement, oh god why do we give a flying beep really, we have all the choices in the world.

A Good example, today in one of my classes at school a friend and i got into a heated conversation About the Xbox 360 and the PS3, while we both agreed on a few things such as Online play and Hardware, things got out of hand when discussing the overall failure rate of the 2 consoles, which the other person was absolutely off guard and failing to provide any proof, OR EVEN so much as let me speak ONCE. He claimed the PlayStation 3 has a 50% Failure rate and that their are hundreds of reasons such as bad codes and what not that have caused the 360's Infamous Red ring of Death issues. I Couldn't even speak, and this almost got out of hand enough, that if i had not of ran into him again later and worked things out, we would not be friends.

And then someone else comes up and starts talking, and i probably shouldn't of got angered by it, but i didn't like how this person just walked in and he nearly freaked out, just holding his anger in while literally raising his voice at me telling me stop un including  him from everything. Obviously i have a bad history with this person because he is constantly being a royal jerk to me all the time, so lately i have fed up with it. Sadly even i still feel guilty, but then again we weren't talking to him in the first place, their's better ways to get included in a conversation then just barging in. What seamed like a good discussion about video game consoles got a little bit out of hand easily when the big agreement was, How in the world does a system, with only 3% of normal electronic failure rate move to 50% and not have any prove of it, who's gonna make that claim and not let you say a word about it, while someone else comes up to you angry and mad because he's not Apart of this discussion and yelling at you TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE WRONG.

It's ridiculous. And even i know that the Xbox 360 has had the worst reliability out of all consoles, but believe it or not, many people have consoles from when they were FIRST released years ago that have not hit any of these problems. And Microsoft has shredded 1 Billion dollars to introduce a 3-year warranty which is good. Just because it had all these hardware failures does not mean you shouldn't buy this console, never kept me from doing so, because i was covered under a really good guaranteed replacement or fix 3-year warranty, and this console has been very successful and has not lost as much money as Sony, because really it costed Sony lot to make those consoles compared to today, but even the ps3 is now becoming profitable.

Sometimes i wonder why i even bother to engage in such a conversation, and really i was doing alot of listening and less talking, but while tolerating the fact that my preferred play station network is not superior to xbox live, i was also expected to sit Back, Shut up and not say a thing because whatever i say IS WRONG, the PS3 has a 50% Hardware failure rate with no explanation as to why while the Xbox 360 DOES. I FEEL SO ANGRY.

But thank god things with me and my friend are still very good, as we both agreed this didn't need to go out of hand, though really i have no confronted him about his Lack of letting other people Speak really. Like me he owns both consoles. Dam...i even saw a April 15th 2010 Survey conducted with over 500 thousand owners of video game consoles and here were the failure rate Results.

Anyone else get sick of this crap like me?
I am so doing my best to stay away from stuff like this, and when it comes to the Xbox 360 and PS3, this is the first fanboy convo i have HAD In the Longest of time in the subject. As i am more so vulnerable with the Mac versus Windows, but even i like to make sure things don't get out of hand.
Cause friend's are more important then all this really.

I never engage in issues about games, if any it is just whether or not u like it, if you dont, i don't care, if you do and they don't Whatever you know?

It's difficult, cus i am a hardware junkie surely you know that dan :P
XD
Yeah i bought mine in 09? early 09 Ish? though it's not used much it performs just fine, and i may attempt to build some sorta extra cooling system for it, however plans have changed since i've noticed the current heatsink is pretty good for hours of entertainment like my ps3 :P
and that's good :D, idk about the Xbox originals though, i actually rly want one idk why, very interested in making something out of it lol, very dandy machine it is.
Happens here every day. D=
There's just no point in arguing over something like consoles or operating systems.
Some may say it's fun to have a little debate, but those topics still make me mad. I don't bother reading them anymore and I'm not a fanboy of any kind.

About a year ago I purchased the original Xbox for $50 and put XBMC on it. I still use it a lot. =)
:P Their so cheap now it's crazy, 100% agree with you though, just gets us mad.
Fanboys are not geeks. Fanboys are tools. They have completely submitted their minds to corporate takeover to the point that they are incapable of objective, intellectual thought.
fanboy discussions are just futile and pointlesss as in the end its just a blah blah blah bs bs fuk u, no fuk u lol
people are strange animals
-.-*
I just simply hate it when arguments come up about hardware systems and then unnecessary yelling/wasting of time begins. Really, here's the point, and you might want to point it out if another argument similar to the one stated in your post starts:
"Well, it's all a matter of opinion. I like what I like, and you like what YOU like. In the end, there's no difference, since both get the job done (in this case, we both get to play video games). Just get over it, and stick your nose back in your console and be happy that you even own it in the first place."
I think fanboys are ridiculous.. I mean I can probably read any story on Engadget and find somebody screaming about some other product or company (and don't even get me started on Gizmodo). Thankfully the Mac vs PC war has mostly died down (it still happens, but not nearly like it used to). And video game flame wars are annoying.. but by far the most annoying is the smartphone arguments.. and maybe its just because smartphones come out so often, that the trolls get more chances to annoy me.

And have fanboys ever been the reason for you not liking a product you once liked? Because I used to LOVE android.. before it was "cool" and now there are almost as many android fanboys as there are iphone ones.. and because of this I have moved away from the android camp.. And now I am favoring WebOS..
Very few people ever get these 360 vs PS3 things right.

I try to stay neutral, but I usually take the side against the fanboys.
I have a friend who thinks everything that Steve Jobs says is Gospel.
