I’m sure most of you who are old enough, have had a first love. Did he/she know how you felt? Was it reciprocated? How old were you?

I was just sitting here thinking about mine. The reason I'm thinking about him is my mother brought up his name when I called to wish her a happy birthday.

My feelings were not returned, unfortunately. I was about 16 years old when I first discovered my first love. And I'm sure he knew how I felt. I was never very good at hiding my feelings.

When I look back it's hard to believe I was ever that innocent and young!

I believe the first love is more than infatuation. I still remember, after all these years, the feelings and what I went thru. I'm glad she returned your feelings. You have good memories, then, to look back on.
hi there Granny Diane well I'm only 17 yrs old now turning 18,i had my first love when i was still in kindergarten i know it was really early but i already told her that but i was really afraid to court her,i don't want to ruin our friendship she became my best friend when we where in elementary and that was it,,and even now i still have feeling for her,,and she knows it,,hehe,,but we are now far away from each other i'm now here Canada and she's still in the Philippines,,i really miss her a lot!!!
You said she became your best friend. So something good came out of it, right? Even though you are far apart, are you able to keep in touch? And who knows, you both may meet again in the future. Did she ever say what her feelings were?
well i was always her crying shoulder,,..she always tells me her problems and i make her happy but she never told me what she felt for me,,..
My youngest brother had hair and eyes like that and everyone adored him, so I know what you mean. But I'm sorry about the bullying. I would like to believe that girl did like you.

\By the way, the picture you have as your avatar is cute. If that is you, then you are still cute!
I'm sorry that she was so insensitive to send a Dear John letter. But I guess you can put that down to her age? At 13, we are still so young and to get hurt like that can leave a deep impression on us. I hope you eventually did find love.
Dear John letter are rough, but at least you were extended the courteousy. All I got was a door in the face.
We were 5, just started school. Both of us were cute little blondies. I think she felt the same...

We somehow drifted apart after the first couple of years - moved to different classes but we went to the same schools right up to age 16.

I'd not seen or heard from her since then until a couple of months ago when we connected on Facebook. She's now one of my top fb friends, we play fb Scrabble and chat often and we met up at a mini school reunion she organised.

We're both happily married with kids but somehow I feel a real kinship with her.

As for my first teen-aged love...
Even though you are happily married doesn't mean you can't have "special" feelings toward your first love. That, I believe, will never go away. It's good, too, that you can be friends.
My first relationship was with a lady who was 4 years my senior, this relationship hardly lifted off as I was aware she had other male influence in her life. When I realised it was time to separate I was devistated, I've had few serious relationships since then.
I hope it doesn't stop you from having relationships, though. Look at it as an experience to help you "grow". I believe that every person and every experience we have is what makes us into the person we become. We need to learn how to make these things "work" for us.
im actually in my first love, i had a girlfriend before, but i didnt like really love her, i mean, i really liked her, but the girl im with now is so awesome, shes 4 years my junior, but we are the most ridiculous pair you ever saw, one minute were hugging, and the next, were play fighting, this girl just really makes me happy, shes beautiful, funny, caring, just totally awesome, but again, im almost 18, and shes 14, so well have to see, lol
