More Information

At school (yes highschool!) I found an iPhone 3 in the same gym locker I use every day. We're not assigned one I just like to keep my stuff inside the same one. We are asked to bring our own locks etc, and whatnot. Anyway I'm not sure if when you were in highschool it was like this. Now I talked to my parents, my dad says he isn't sure what to do, that I should hand it in right away but my brother who is a senor, says that there isn't anything to prove it is owned to someone. The sim card isn't inside it, there is a lot of rap music, and no photos, and a call log that was there. We called a few of the numbers to find that nobody knows who someone the iPhone is owned by (plugged it in via itunes) Jmily. I assume its J<Insert name here> Mily who owns it, asking a few friends they have no idea either Jmily might be. Is it possible to prove that it is owned by anybody with the following information.

- No name engraved / printed
- iTunes says it is owned to Jmily but the #s we called do not know a "Jmily"

Also what do you think the best course of action would be? Turn it in and if its never claimed then big deal? Or? Just give me your feedback.

Also I am on a T-Mobile network is it possible to change who it is owned to, and make it correctly work for T-mobile depending on what my parent's say for the best course of action.

AT&T might be able to find the owner just by the Serial Number of the machine.
That's strange that there isn't a SIM card in it and the people in the contacts don't have any idea who it is! I would probably tell the office that you have it and if anyone is looking for it to let them tell you. If you advertise that you have a lost iPhone probably anybody would come out and take it.

I think there's a way to make it work on T-Mobile but you'd have to do your research.
Ok people are gonna knock me down for this but, KEEP IT.

Basically you hand it in and every Tom dick and harry will claim it!

If it is on contact it is insured so the owner didn't suffer too much.

Unless you know who the owner is 100% you are not in the wrong and maybe you deserve something like this for a change!
Just keep it.

If people make it this hard for you to return their stuff, you have a right to keep their stuff.
I feel that if i try and find the owner of a lost item such as this and fail & i am happy that i tried hard enough to warrent keeping the device then fine i will keep it.

(i always tend to find the person who owns items i find)
