Okay, gang... I need to re-write the teaser for the front of our site. What should it be? What will draw more geeks in when they first discover us? Right now, it's pretty darn generic.

You mean, something like: "Stay up-to-date while you learn new things and meet other Geeks at the same time... Sign up today!"
Personally I don't see any immediate need for hundreds more members to be drafted in on the premise of a new homepage teaser but yeah, a steady growth would be good :) Probably too long but what the hell :D

"Geeks gives you the power to share, interact and discuss with people who have the same interests as you. Never has it been easier to express your expertise in a variety of topics but be able to do so in a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Join us now!"
24000 members so far seems good, and for that generic slogan to have intrigued that many is great! Personally, I think the site speaks for itself, It's easy to navigate, and even through the average users short attention span provides enough content to imply the environment of the community. And most people who would be intrigued by this initially are easily enthralled and promptly provide more attention before being drawn to sign up.
Of course there are alot of "vacant" or not frequently used accounts, but that occurs with every website providing account based service. It's the natural progression of the average users attention being quickly shifted into a new area or spectrum and quickly forgetting the past days they just spent online.
Out of that large group, the ones who find this site very interesting are held to it and provide the community further. At least that's how i view it. The slogan seems to speak well. It states clearly and my statement above supports that. Of course no harm in trying something new...
The glass is neither half-full nor half-empty: it's twice as big as it needs to be.
I'm not anti-social; I'm just not user friendly
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

"A community of geeks, from all walks of life, coming together for one common cause...to take over the world!...or just discuss and learn about tech in a sophisticated, intelligent manner."

Haha, I'm really tired. That's either really funny or not so much.
How about "Where a Geek can be a Geek"? If Chuckie Cheese dosn't get ruffled. LOL
Ooh, how do you thumbs up a post? This one made me laugh.
