I just read an article in the news about GM being in negotiations with E bay to sell their vehicles there. Many dealers already have cars listed with E bay but this will be a first for General Motors. It seems to me that they will be in direct competition with their dealers..

Read article. McDonald said GM is trying to get a deal done to start testing the ...

What do yáll think about this? Do you think they will be successful?

Would you buy a new car off of E bay?

The only problem I see with selling cars on eBay is the general "lack of legitimacy" eBay has garnered over the years. There are plenty of legitimate and good sellers on there, but as most people have probably experienced there are plenty of bad ones too.. Not that GM is a bad seller, but it doesn't really seem like a proper venue for them.
Oneside, I know that if this works, they will give warranties just like they do now but if they make this a hit, who will service these cars? The dealers are already closing their doors.

I remember that saying Your Honor. Those were the good old days.
Maybe you can UPS your car back to them. ;P
This sounds like an Obama idea. After all, Uncle Sam is the major stock holder.
What ever happened to free enterprise ???
Renderedcook, that is what I was thinking. I have known people who have bought cars off of Ebay and they didn't have any problems. This one guy was looking for a certain car and found it on Ebay. The person who sold it, paid for the shipping.

Of course, Ebay will probably give GM a deal on the cost of putting up their ads along with a few other perks.
How do you even ship a car and how much does that cost???
