Permalink Reply by Wandering I on July 5, 2012 at 8:14pm Here's the thing, its not illegal technically if you purchase the software, and install it on hardware not intended for its intended distribution. However, you still have to sign the eula when you DO install it, so that basically means that you still abide by all the rules and regulations apple has set forth. I look at it this way, I purchased the software, I can do what I want as long as I'm not breaking that agreement. I'm not distributing their software, I'm not copying it, nor am I hacking the software in any way. All I'm doing is getting around their unrealistic pricing on hardware. I would be doing something illegal if I were to sell that system later on though with the software intact, or use it in a business setting.
So to me, I don't really consider it illegal in the first place unless I'm trying to distribute it, but for my own personal use I have absolutely no problem with it.
