HELP!!!! Lost Admin Priviledges on my User account Windows 7

Hey Guys.

Something really strange happened yesterday. I was going about my business as usual and noticed my wireless Network adapter (USB built on to motherboard) disconnected. I tried to open network and sharing centre and was told I dont have permission, rights have been removed by admin. I then tried the run command same thing. almost anything I tried to do gave me permission errors.

I dont understand what has happened and how I can return my admin rights. I have tried logging in as Administrator and everything work on that account but gave my user profile admin rights and yet it still has limited access to even the control panel. I dont know what to do. and I dont know if its safe to just create another profile and setup again or am I infected? should I format and reload windows or is there a way to return my profile to the way it was? tried system restore and fails on every restore point. I also tried copying over the user files to another new account and that new account does the same thing. I have run Malwarebytes and other virus and spyware/malware apps and they find nothing.

Please help?

Thanks alot

Try this:

Restart your computer in Safe Mode

Select Safe Mode with a Command Prompt

With the net user command, you can create a new user account by typing:

net user yourusername /add /active:yes

And the command to add this user to the administrators group is:

net localgroup administrators /add yourusername

See if that method works.
HI, that works but I am unable to copy my user files accross. as soon as I do and log into the new account it doesnt have admin rights, I tried your method before and after and same result. :( this is frustrating.
Do you have access to your Windows installation disk?
Yes I do
Alright. Try this method.

1. Download the following file and save it to your desktop: enableadmin.exe.

2. Click Start. Write down your username.

3. Place your Windows Installation DVD into your DVD drive

4. Restart your computer

5. When prompted, press a key on your keyboard to boot from the DVD

6. Select your language options and click Next

7. Select the option at the bottom to repair your computer

8. Select your Windows installation from the list. Make sure you notate what drive letter it is installed on.

9. Select the last option from the list to open a Command Prompt

10. Type the drive letter that you notated from step 8 (Ex. C:)

11. Type the following command, and press enter: cd users

12. Type cd, a space, your username that you wrote down in step 2, and then press enter. For example, if your username is jimmy, you would type cd jimmy

13. Type the following command, and press enter: cd desktop

14. Type the following command, and press enter: enableadmin

15. You should receive a message telling you to restart your computer. Close the command prompt window and click on the 'Restart' button on the window that gives you the list of options.

16. When your computer restarts, log in with the account named 'Administrator'. Use this emergency Administrator account to fix your normal administrator account by using the user accounts control panel.
You have to Take Ownership of the directories of where the files you want are located. Maybe if you log on as Administrator and then move the files from one User ID to the New User ID. it will work.

Also, I am betting that you are using either vista or Windows 7. With those two Operating Systems even if you are an Admin you, many times, have to run an application or an installation "As Administrator". This is where you have to Right Click and from the menu choose "Run As Administrator".
I have taken ownership and copied over the user files to a new account yet it still does this. I cannot even access Control Panel and other programs that were working perfectly all of a sudden cant access files they need. I am now suspecting an unknown virus is the problem. I think it's only effecting the user account because logging in as a new user and not copying over files or even using the administrator account everything is ok. I just hope someone out there reads this and can maybe figure out what the hell is going on.

Thanks
