More Information

Hey there fellow geeks I'm Josh and I'm relatively new here.

and Im hoping to pic your brains in the effort to improve my website if you all don't mind too much.

I am a digital artist and I have created a website flash based using flash and dreamweaver http://www.jart.tk and whilst my website functions fine enough in of it self I wish to improve on it a great deal. What I am looking for essentially is a piece of software to help me create and manage my website as a digital artist I am constantly creating new pieces to show case and because my focus isn't on one particular aspect of digital art I have both images and videos, I also wanted to show case my ui and web designs as well but ended up just using snap shots rather than functioning versions of them. My current websute is difficult to update and I have not done so in a while out of sheer laziness. The other downside of this website is also it does not function well if at all on mobile devices.
So seeing as how Im more of an artist than a programmer I have butchered tutorials just to get my website to do what I want up untill now. What I was wondering is what would you recommend I use to redesign my website from the ground up, So I can both manage and update my content easily without having to learn all sorts of new coding like php and xml and such. Something I can use to create a nice dynamic website that is easy to update but still leaves me the option to create the look and feel and functionality of my own choosing rather than having to resort to fixed templates.

any advice or sugestions would be greatly appreciated

Have you considered Wordpress?
I had briefly looked at it but from the quick look I did take it seemed as though it was mostly geared toward templates but I will look into it further, keeping my options open for now and see what kind of response I get from here and then look deeper in to all my options.
Well, you can design your own for it.

I suggest using WordPress as well. I love it, it is absolutely brilliant. An amazing piece of software.
I would have to agree with the others, using WordPress is probably your best option. If you want, I would be willing to create something for you. But I'll leave that up to you.
I appreciate the offer but this is something i would like to do for myself. Though i've looked through a few CMS's now joomla wordpress etc, they all seem overly geared toward blogs rather than a portfolio site which is some what annoying. I know you can do a portfolio site with them but I guess I will just have to keep reteaching lol
Especially if your using video aswell as pictures...
Well almost all Content Management Systems run off the same platform, so the process is some what the same. Are you good with graphic programs like Photoshop?
Yeah I'm a digital artist so Im very familiar with photoshop and illustrator as well as 3d packages
you could use something like Wix (from Wix.com) it uses templates, is easy to use, and you can add videos and pictures.
