Hey everyone, I'm looking to get an ereader with some christmas money. I'm new to the whole scene and I'm not sure which kind I should get. The biggest problem is the fact that I'm Canadian and limited in my choices. As I see it there are a few main choices, the Kobo, Kindle and the Sony touch eReaders. The Kobo and the kindle are a little more wallet friendly but I have no trouble spending a little more on the Sony eReaders if they're superior. There are also some other brands out there but I'm not too familiar with them. As for file formats and limitations I know next to nothing, I do however have a small collection of PDF files and a few mobi files that a friend sent me. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hello, I in fact got an ereader for christmas and think I can help you. There is the popular kindle like you mentioned however there is also the Nook and Nook color which is sold by Barnes and Nobles. If you have one in your area i would recommend going there. They have them on display for customers to play with. I have the Nook color and it is wonderful. It is fully colored, backlit, and touch screen. However if your an outside reader i would advise not getting the nook color on the fact that there is glare. The battery life is also short. well that is another option hope I helped.
Unfortunately Barns and Noble doesn't exist in Canada and we have trouble buying them directly up here so it's off the list. Thanks for the suggestion though.
kk well then i would look into the kindle 3 it had many good reviews.

I bought my husband the Nook full color from Barnes & Noble. He loves it!!!! I checked it out and I think it rocks. Compared to the Kindle? It kicks Kindlez AzZ!

Oh, I C. No NOOks in Canada. I think there a few out there u should check out before settling for the Kindle.
