More Information

I recently purchased an HTC incrediable (Android) mobile phone and it has been suggested that I download and install some security software, such as "Lookout Mobile Security".

Since I am new to the "Smart Phone" world does anyone have an input on this subject.

Thanks,

Gerry D.

I definitely don't think you need an antivirus for an android phone, or any smartphone for that matter. The chances of you getting a virus on android is astronomical. You would have to be pretty stupid and careless to get a virus on your phone at this point in time.
The thing with Lookout that I think is a good thing is that it will scan your apps already installed, and then as you install new apps, it "screens" them for malicious scripts. This IS a good thing.
The program also has other features as back-up and locate your phone .
Couldn't hurt to have a screened app as you know it will only be a matter of time before people get bored and attack phones..
I do agree that the chances of getting a MOBILE VIRUS ARE SLIM, BUT THEY DO EXIST...
