I have had the same computer for over six years. Yes. You heard me right. I bought a Dell Dimesion 2350 back in 2003 and it is my thought that if it works keep it. I am not a gamer or really a heavy user so with the few upgrades that I have done and some reformatting a couple of times, this machine has been awesome. I am still using the computer. I finally broke down and bought a new Logitech mouse when the other one fell apart.

Yesterday, my sister called to say that she wanted to show me something and asked if I would be home. Sure. She came in with a new Dell 20" flat screen monitor. I asked her why she bought me one and she said, "Yours sucks and I wanted you to have a new one."

God bless sweet sisters. Not many of y'all know but I have a 2 year old grand daughter that I am raising. Not much money left for too many things and especially a new monitor.

Then, I had a friend call yesterday who told me that he always prays for me. He said that he asked God yesterday to give me a special blessing which leads to my question.

Do you believe that God answers prayers for such things?

Nice monitor and an even nicer sister.
Not sure about the answer to your question but perhaps I should try it and get back to you on that one.
Yup, because the Lord says, "Ask and you shall receive"
The you go LadyTech. That is what it says.

I didn't ask but a friend did and in the back of his mind, he knew what I needed.

How you doing LT?
Yup, that's how it works. It doesn't have to be u asking. No matter who it comes from. Prayers said or asked in faith are always answered.
All is good thank GOD.
Hope all is good with u. Enjoy your sweeeeet monitor.
That sure was sweet of your sister. I believe that God answers prayers.
Frenchie, what is luck? I have always wondered. Maybe you can tell me.

Yep Shannon, I too believe in prayer.

Hey, this site is for discussing whatever a person wishes. Not just tech stuff.
Prayer? absolutely. Especially when it's done for someone else. Sometimes results aren't immediate, but eventually and somehow, things adjust to make your prayer get answered.
Why are not all prayers answered? only God knows. I think it's just that many times a prayer is not genuine or lacks faith.
I feel that when we pray for others that they have to be willing for certain things to take place in their lives. It will happen in time but I have seen this so many times. However, like praying for a sick child, I have seen it happen that the child would get well when there was no reason other than prayer.

Yes, prayers are answered in God's time which isn't ours.
I had a dell 2350. It died on me after i attempted to clean the inside with a vaccum 2 years ago. It was shitty too. 256 mb ram 1.7 or something single core cpu. I have the same monitor as you. Dell 20"
First, Great Monitor.....
And an EXTRA Great Sister!!!!

I do believe in prayer.

Certainly people get sick, even die; financial problems are real, and all sorts of very difficult situations can come up. What then?

God tells us to give our concerns to him. Even as the situation remains dismal, "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you." The circumstances may look out of control, but they aren't. When the whole world seems to be falling apart, God can keep us together. This is when a person can be very grateful that they know God. "The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." God may provide solutions, resolutions to the problem WAY beyond what you imagined possible. Probably any Christian could list examples like this in their own lives. But if the circumstances do not improve, God can still give us his peace in the midst of it. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

It is at this point (when circumstances are still tough) that God asks us to continue to trust him -- to "walk by faith, not by sight" the Bible says. But it's not blind faith. It is based on the very character of God. A car traveling on the Golden Gate Bridge is fully supported by the integrity of the bridge. It doesn't matter what the driver may be feeling, or thinking about, or discussing with someone in the passenger seat. What gets the car safely to the other side is the integrity of the bridge, which the driver was willing to trust.

In the same way, God asks us to trust his integrity, his character...his compassion, love, wisdom, righteousness on our behalf. He says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." "Trust in him at all times, O people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us."

I know your sister and you Trust in the Lord!
You and your sister are Blessed.

Have fun with the Grand Daughter, and let her play on that computer!
