it has been a while since i was last here, so i hope everyone is doing well. I recently started an IndieGoGo Project to create an open source but powerful social media and networking software. I also just read the popular threads above the forum and it seems the timing couldn't be better. This software may be of some use to geekwith or even to you members at some point.
The project can be found here:
The project is designed so anyone can create a community driven by sharing user created content, from articles, files, pictures, movies, art or even games. The system will have a powerful news system allowing sites of any size to fully utilize the function. As well as a ton of other features for sharing, managing and promoting content.
SEO, Privacy and security are also big concerns and being addressed in the software very well. The software will have SEO features that will take full advantage of content provided and ensure user content is easier to find within google, bing etc.
Privacy and security are also concerns which we're address by ensuring the software cannot be abused right out of the box. Everything that isn't public such as name, will be fully encrypted (Including usernames, emails, passwords, addresses etc) and also additional privacy settings enabled to ensure only information you want shown, will be made public. This is to ensure no one can abuse the software to sell user information or use that information to break into other accounts.
There's a lot of features and plans, but i could use any help i can get to promote the project.
Weather you have a blog, a full news site, a gaming community, you'll find a lot of features in this software that other software don't, or not as focused. It will also be fully open source to everyone if/when the project is complete. There isn't any open source projects of this scale and do these features, which seems to be in high demand. So i hope you guys can help be promoting or even contributing to the project.
I will be giving promotional access to communities to test this software, so if anyone is interested let me know.
