I downloaded opera mini for iPhone and noticed an immediate speed boost over safari. I went to one of my favorite image heavy sights (American Muscle) on safari it took 30 seconds. On opera mini it took just 8. Why can't safari be this fast? Come on apple. But I must say. Opera mini is now my primary iPhone web browser. What are your experiences?

Opera mini compresses the webpages so it takes less data which increases the speed especially over 3g

no, opera just thought since mobile broadband speeds are slow they would compress webpages you request on their servers and then send them to your phone to help speed things up

I don't know about anyone else, but i tried it and hated it. Safari is faster on my iPhone than Opera by quite a bit. Not to mention the horrible UI, the awkward zooming, etc. I was really hoping it would be faster than Safari but it's just not. Not to me, at least.
