More Information

My Internet Explorer has been acting strange lately. Whenever I look at a blog or website with an embedded Youtube video all I get is a flash picture with Chris's avatar. I think it started after visiting this site with my fresh install of Windows 7 and IE 8. I don't have this problem in Firefox.

Well...I cleared my temp files and cookies and it seems to be gone, but when I came back here IE complained about a looping script.

lol, that's weird.

I tried to replicate it on my system, but no such luck.

why do you need to you IE anyway. download chrome of safari.
or MOZILLA FIREFOX!!!!!!!! ;)
OR OPERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!
ie is a virus magnet :P
ya but still
I hear you, Dan. IE always gets a bum rap no matter what MS does to improve it (and yes, it has improved drastically). I guess some people don't understand that any browser can be breached if an exploit out there exists. Firefox was. Safari was (on a fully updated OS X machine). Are those browsers magnets for these things, too? No. Only IE.
I just downloaded IE9 beta and it seems to be great. It is super fast. I haven't tried it in everything that I do but it seems to be exceptional!!!
As nice as IE9 is (for IE!), it's not quite where the rest of the major browsers are. It still has a long way to go before it's as standards compliant and solid. They've really done a good job so far with IE9, and I'm glad they're finally taking open standards very seriously. Their whole vendor lock in scheme worked too well for them back in the day when they tried to get everyone to use IE6 with ActiveX. Since then open standards have emerged and they're stuck with old crap they have to support and wean people off lol.

Oh and to the original poster, try it in other browsers, see if it does the same. The site you visited might use a similar tool bar this site does that confused the temp files into loading cached stuff from here.
IE 9.0 still has the same security problems as IE 8.0 did in the tests I ran. A browser I can't surf porn in is a browser not for me.
