Greetz Pirillo Geeks,
I have an issue with internet in my parents house, hopefully someone out there is geeky enough to help with this...
I live in London, England, however I have come back home to Scotland for Christmas for 2 weeks and tested a couple of things.
1: New Modem installed
- Works when laptop is plugged in directly to it, no connection lost at any time.
- Coper Wire has been tested between Modem and Router, no issues found.
2: New router installed
- This is where the issue is now. It's a Netgear N300 Wireless router
- All wireless devices
- Tested Channels 1,3,6,11 (3 being the best and what we are currently using).
The problem we have here is that the inter will drop after 10 -30 mins of usage.
The only way to regain connection is to go to
Router Status -> Connection Status
Click "Release" to remove the Lease.
then click "Renew" to obtain a new Lease.
then the Internet is good for another round of 30 mins or so.
Hope someone can help with this, I can see why the lease needs to constantly be renewed all the time to make the internetwork for a further 30 mins before it has to be done again.

Have you done a complete reset of your Router yet?
Permalink Reply by JT on December 31, 2010 at 12:32pm Sounds like a NIC (Network Interface Card) driver problem.
You can go to DriverMax.com and install Driver Max and then run a scan against your machine.
No matter what it finds I would install the Wireless Ethernet Drivers first and then maybe the
Chipset. The free version only lets you download 2 drivers a day. I use the paid version & it works
great.
