Geek Out!

More Information

We've been struggling with WPMU (WordPress MU) for lockergnome.com bloggers for a while now, but I don't know if that'll ever scale to the point we need it to be - especially on WPMU with its lackluster set of features and crummy support options.

What if I took the platform that Geeks is running on and launched experts.lockergnome.com? You know, for the more serious social networkers who are trying to put their professional foot forward. Answer questions, get their own questions answered, etc. Thoughts?

It would be open to anyone / everyone, of course - and I'm thinking of using http://www.elgg.org/ as the foundation (but I don't know ANYBODY with elgg experience.

I think it's a great idea Chris, but take care for don't kill Geeks! with this idea.
Of course not. This is for geeks, but... not all professionals / experts are geeks. ;)
All professional/experts are Geeks, but not all Geeks are professionals.
I think both are true, but there are geeks & then there are professionals who're not geeks :D
Would this only be open to lockergnome writers?
No, it would be open to anybody.
Oh that would be neat.
So like business owners or people that freelance?

Would it be a approve only group?
Potentially, to weed out the... not-very-experts.
Sounds good
That would be really cool! It would give people a chance share their expertise and experiences in a new way.
So Combine Geeks + Expert Exchange & Linked In?
Sounds like a good idea, but how do you sort out the wannabes from the real experts?
