Geek Out!

I personally enjoyed playing the alto-sax when I was in band...does that make me a geek? In this discussion, I wanna know if all geeks played some kind of musical instrument. For example; flute, tuba, trumpet, violin...etc. If we are musically talented, does that mean that we are geeks? Those jocks in school are just jealous that we could read music...

I used to play guitar in a rock band....But too busy now to play it any more lol..I also want to learn drums someday. And yes, being a geek sure does help do anything in life, because geeks know the best and most efficient way to learn anything and they are more dedicated and hard working than those loser jocks haha
I play the bass guitar, I can do a fair bit. I mean I'm no Victor Wooten but I can get around the bass pretty good and I learn fast :)
I played the cello and guitar. I played football and baseball and I still run in 10 mile events, and work out 6 days a week. I am still a geek at heart.
I played the Viola in primary school. Moved to the piano at High school then quit.
However I bought a piano about 6 months ago...... though I've played it twice LOL
I have no musical talent whatsoever. I have a tough time tuning the radio some days and its programmed!!! LOL
What?! Nobody played the flute?! And here I thought I was gonna find my one true love just like the movie lol! Actually, I have a confession to make...I started off playing the flute before I switched to the sax...I was embarrassed of being a flute playing geek...tsk tsk... =P
I always wanted to play the flute and the guitar. It just seemed like the thing to do. However, I started piano lessons when I was nine and took all though high school. Then later in my twenties, I switched to learn some new method.

I still play some days. Just sit down at the piano and sing while I play like I am good. ha ha

It never made me feel like a geek. I was proud that out of my other siblings that I was the only one who stayed with it. I can't imagine not having a piano in my home.

You know Johnny, I always wished that I could just play by ear and not have to read music. Now, I can't play a thing unless the music is in front of me.
I played the flute and piano for years when I was younger. Once I got to High school I quit playing and I don't really regret it either. It was fun while it lasted but I moved on :)
I play the Trombone and the piano so I dunno, I defiantly feel like a geek when I put that band uniform on to go march in the football field.
I wanted to play drums, but was stuck with clarinet, which I ended up excelling on, so I KNOW I'm a geek. I majored in music in college and learned to play everything, literally. I worked junior high and high school camps every summer in the late seventies for extra bucks. College band and summer camp for us was a great deal like Funky Winkerbean, and if you have to look that up then I know I'm gettin' old... I'll have to post some band camp stories on my blog and post the link, there are way too many.
nope nothing nada.
