The point of SOPA and the other laws was or rather is to prevent piracy right? but now they showed the world that they can shut down a page like MegaUpload one of the greatest piracy  pages, so it was really necessary that law?

Sopa was stupid... nuff said. Arresting the founder of Megaupload is even more stupid because the guy was in New Zealand... The United States should not have jurisdiction there.
