Since the iPad launch I have raved on about it and now not far from the speculated 2.0 launch im Raving a little more, I didn't get the first version in wait for 2.0
Now im finding my self crazed about the Acer iConia, the laptop cross tablet in a way, looks amazing I could really see this being a big thing and well for the mac geeks imagine a mac book Air with Duel touch screens that would be FREAKIN awesome.
Next up 4G thats something that I cant see coming here in australia very soon 3g is kind of new here still so I cant amagine 4G coming until maybe mid 2011 to the beginning of 2012,
One thing I hope to see 4G come to the iPad and maybe a 3G or 4G iPod touch!
What gadgets are you raving about?
&
Would you have a use for a 3G-4G connected iTouch?

I am more into technology under the hood than actual gadgets themselves. So I like to take time to focus on some advancements in technology that are due out soon, that make all those wonderful gadgets and computers that we love, better and faster.
I cannot wait for the upcoming crop of 600 gigabyte (GB) solid state drives (SSDs), which will take full advantage of the newest 6 gigabit per second (Gb/s) SATA drive connectivity standard to pump data through your PC at roughly twice the speed of today's widespread 3 Gb/s standard. And with the SSDs in 2011 having increasing capacities, will bring down prices on the SSD's that are currently top dollar now.
The actual implementation of more USB 3.0 devices to take advantage of USB 3.0's 10x speed advantage over USB 2.0, which will make fast external storage a reality.
The implementation of devices that contain actual ready for prime time Memristors. For those who don't know what a Memristor is, it is a new type of circuitry for memory/RAM modules to them become non-volatile instead of volatile (meaning no more losing of data when the power gets cut to a computer or electronic device). This means that having memory that will retain information without power. So that when power gets turned off, the computer will be the same exact spot where the power gets turned back on. This type of technology can potentially change how we use computers and electronics in that we will have true instant on devices when we turn on the power - no more boot up times of 3 to 20 minutes.
Permalink Reply by Lance Burrows on January 14, 2011 at 6:54am Well thats already possible and will become more main stream with SOC chips (software on chip) because we all know to make light weight of chips they use flash memory as an example if you look at a flash SD card your pics load instantly, a nintendo wii use's a flash NAND chip common in consoles and even tv's,
Like imagine having your TV have to boot from a SATA it would take a FREAK'n long time to load and even then it would be loud and just hectic!
so you will defiantly see pc's loading fast though the thing you can expect to go slow is when data starts hitting the cloud.
If you ask me if your already doing cloud computing it's way easier to set up a small home ftp server!

Permalink Reply by Lance Burrows on January 20, 2011 at 8:10pm Why would you want that not to put you down but Joli Cloud isn't very good (I have tested it),
If I was you, Do a duel boot on your laptop it runs fine with a higher screen resolution.
Test it out and make sure its what you really want, basically Joli Cloud is just a rip off of Ubuntu Netbook Remix!
Permalink Reply by JS on January 20, 2011 at 9:45pm I have used JoliCloud, and found it to be the best mobile operating system I could find. Yes, it has a few faults, but what I could do with it is re-conquer my netbook (current one).
And I tried running JoliCloud on my MacBook Pro. Preferred it on my netbook.
