Windows 7 is much better than vista in my opinion. There was a lot of things I didn't like about Vista, and the main one was the messages asking me twenty times if I was sure I wanted to uninstall a program. : (

I never had any problems with Windows vista, Simply do to the fact that My Computer manufacturer Made excellent drivers for it, Alot of the criticism on Windows vista had Very Little To do with Microsoft them selves, sadly, and Was mostly Caused by arrogant ignorant, and Selfish people who expected their computer to last forever. Needless to say Windows 7 is still better becus it has more compatability and use from faster computers then vista does. Not to mention it is more user friendly, but alot of the OS is Built from Vista, It IS VISTA In so many ways with just a few re designed features and removals, as well as added support for the more powerful hardware we use today. Not to mention it works alot better on older systems do to the strong efforts of microsoft them selves, Even though they did not Need to do that, They simply responded to the Out rageous criticism of vista.

Do you know how many people expected a Very Old Windows XP system to Run an OS 5+ Years advanced from it?

Truth be told on a dual core with 4 gigs of ram, it's was hard for me to tell the difference.

Windows 7 is better than Windows Vista because Microsoft Improved Windows Vista and Added Some New Features, and the Improved version is known as "Windows 7".

I Stand behind what hacker punk said, Honestly Windows 7 is windows vista, with just a few years jump of added on features and advancements in technology, and support for more powerful computers. I have read officially that the Professional additions and up of Windows Xp in 64-bit were capable of properly utilizing up to dual core Machines, although not as properly as Windows 7 can do with much higher, Windows 7 is fast. Vista ran good on Dual cores and quad's, it ran good on Systems that were not over 6-7 Years old, or as old as Windows XP itself, and systems where companies made drivers for, allowing vista to properly function.

Their is so much bullshit consumer reason as to why vista was hated, Vista itself was a good Operating system, Although despite all this i can still stand behind 7 over them all for it's big improvement is user friendlyness, the only thing i hated vista for.

7 is much better than Vista.

In fact, the rule so far seems to be "if you want a good Windows OS, skip a release"

3.1 was good for its time

95 wasn't that great

98 was good; a better 95

millenium was horrible

XP was great

Vista was a mess

7 is very good

8 is bound to be bad

9 should be good :P

good, bad, good, bad, good, bad... can't wait to see how it turns out in the next years.

I beg to differ on one point. I'm a computer tech, 17 years now. Millennium was NOT a bad OS. As a tech I saw it was nothing more then driver issues most of the time. Get correct drivers and the OS rocked.

Otherwise... pretty true assessment.

I have to admit I never used it myself (Win2k), but I remember that when I was working as computer tech, we rolled our eyes when we saw a Windows Millenium machine having issues. It is not impossible that it was in combination with the sale of dubious motherboards/chipsets in those years or something like that. I can't remember the exact nature of the most common issues we had on this OS. Might have been drivers like you said...

Anyway, I'll take my time with Windows 8! Never installed Vista. Quite ready to skip 8 too. :P

I used Vista for a short time on a used laptop I bought, upgraded to 7 in less then a month. Other then that I've never used it myself, but fixed many Vista machines. Certainly was not as smooth/velvety  as 7 is.

I'm in no hurry on 8 either. 7 is fine for me for years to come.

7 is much faster, a bit more user friendly and Innovative.

More capable of Utilization powerful hardware then vista was, although vista and XP were both capable of handling dual cores properly.

i on the other hand had no issues with windows vista, and i centre vistas failure around the consumers more then the company itself, i also centre it on computer manufacturers who failed many times to create proper drivers to allow the OS to work properly. Microsoft is not apple here, if you want the OS on any computer you please then you will consult with Microsoft on Creating proper drivers. Oh and For the consumer side, Really ancient computer that came with a 7 Year old OS and you expect it run Vista properly? UPGRADE??????? I remember buying my laptop in 2008 with vista, Omg, PROBLEMLESS! Mind you i also Have more then 256-1GB of ram, I had 2, then up'd to 4. Even on 2GBs and a amd dual core i ran vista Flawlessly.

Once the second service pack came out it wasn't too bad as an OS. I still don't like it tho.
