If you love the iPad but also love Windows, do not fear. There are already some connections between the two, albeit of varying credibility however.

There are already a couple of apps which will allow iPad users to remotely control a Windows computer. One, PocketCloud from Wyse, works with Remote Desktop Connection, which is built into Windows XP, Vista and 7. It’s priced at $29.99 and even allows you to view Flash content from the PC if you’re prepared to leave your computer switched on and online just in case you come across a troublesome site on your iPad, which let's be honest is a very rare occasion, but if you leave your PC on all the time, you might like that as a feature.

Another option is Desktop Connect, priced at $11.99, although that’s listed as an introductory price. As well as detailing the usual benefits of remote access to a computer, the manufacturers note that it will allow you to control and view PowerPoint presentations on the iPad. It can also be used for accessing iTunes on a PC, which could be handy for those with collections which dwarf the iPad’s storage capacity, which will happen eventually. As well as Remote Desktop Connection, the Desktop Connect app also works with the Virtual Network Connection system found on the high-end editions of Windows.

In less authoritative news, there are some outstandingly dubious reports that a security update to Windows 7 released last week allows users to jailbreak the iPad. The claim is that there’s a security flaw in the version of Safari that ships with the device, caused by uncertainty about whether Flash would be enabled. Supposedly Adobe then made Microsoft aware of this flaw and Microsoft exploited it in the security update.

Personally, I'd love to know the result of that claim. If you find your iPad has been automatically jailbroken by Windows 7, by all means post a response!

So it would seem that there is certainly some crossovers between Windows and jailbreaking already, however this clip appears to show a user running Windows 95 on an iPad. Why such an older OS I have no idea, but then maybe it was easiest to get running:

OMG I NEED THAT APP !!!!
THE WHOLE WINDOWS 95 IS AN APP?
!^@%!# GENIUS At first i had no clue how they got that to boot on a ARM processor, the only windows i managed to boot onto this old 1st gen ipod touch i had was Windows CE lol

I will totally put that on my ipod touch Zomg where can i Download
:D:D:D:D:D:D::D:D I think the choice of windows 95 may be because of the processor in the ipad witch i believe is 1.2ghz? Arm Single? so the Lowest possible power requiring, in terms of battery and hardware os that iis somewhat-stabble 95 is good, i'd personally go with Windows 98. very nice, does look rather slow though.
It would be pretty awesome, no? Haha, that sounds like a fun experience. Ah, as to where you can download it from I'm not too sure. Yeah slow indeed, and the touch interface doesn't quite look right either.
I guess the iPad can get a virus. *AHEM* Windows.
Ollie =]
ahah. ;)
Logmein on Itunes works great.
From the itunes APPs there is Logmein that works very good even on multiple computers from my iPhone and my iPad. Best buy for my money.
I've used Logmein too, it's a good service! There are however, alternatives like I mentioned for those who want that bit more control than Logmein offers.
