Chris set up this resource several years ago because Chris wanted to create an environment outside of WordPress where we might be able to connect with one another and share ideas.

Years later, Chris has discovered that countless pieces of copyrighted material had been lifted from across the Internet and planted on this site. This has created problems for our entire business model.

Plus, Ning decided to jack up the hosting rates to the point where Chris could no longer justify paying premiums for what little revenue was coming in.

Instead of abandoning you, Chris is making an effort to migrate to a completely different community platform - one that will work better for those geeks who love videos (either watching or producing them). It is planned that your profile data, photos, and videos will be moved. With this will likely come a domain change - and the old domains may stop redirecting after a certain period of time (geeks.pirillo.com, geeks.lockergnome.com).

Chris is in the process of downloading what data Ning will let Chris export from their system - Discussions, Blogs, Groups. They, however, are limiting each data type to 10,000 entries - so Chris may not be able to salvage everything (but, yes, a lot of the written data was copyrighted material from outside sources). This is the BEST Chris can do, given the circumstances. Chris will give access to these exports to anybody who requests access, as they should not contain any private information (that wasn't already shared in Discussions, Blogs, or Groups). 

We have active forums on http://www.lockergnome.net/ if you'd care to still get help - and Chris just launched http://www.gnomies.com/ a few weeks back to help those of you geeks who happen to be business owners. 

Thank you for your patience, time, love, and attention - but it is simply not possible for us to continue to use Ning for anything.
