Funny, I was about to turn my laptop off and go install it on a test system. They say it will run on older systems better than Vista. We'll see?
Well,as I said in my Blog, I wanted to run a Repair from the CD to fix an installation problem and I also could not run Windows Updates. I booted from the CD and there was no Repair option to find. At least not one that runs the way that it used to from either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

I had to reinstall and it wiped all of the already installed applications.

I hope that they change this in the Golden finale product, and don't leave it this way.

Dislikes:
New Taskbar
Removal of all the bundled applications (yes I know you can download them via windows live)
The Registry
The new taskbar does take some getting used to. It's like they added it last as an afterthought.

Take care.

You can change it back to the old way buy doing this:
Right-click the Taskbar, go to Properties, then select "Use small icons", change the Taskbar Buttons to "Never combine" then you'll have a Vista looking sidebar.
Actually, the taskbar was one of the starting points, and something they wanted to incorporate into Vista before it was released, but came up short on time.
Your right. I can't tell what is open or what is a quick link
hahaha the registry.
i think we all hate it but its better than having multiple .ini and.inf files running windows like the older versions eg: 3.1
i love every bit of it
microsoft made a new xp and not a vista
The positive feedback on here to 'the successor of Vista' is really good to see :)

It also seems that even Chris likes it :)

Take care.

It's pretty nice, it runs faster than Vista on the same machine, but that may only be because I don't have hardly anything installed on the Windows 7 partition.
I think you have a point there Phill :)

Windows 7 = Windows Vista SE :)

Take care.

Ian
