Sometimes i even wonder if people's who's videos are supported in HD format are really in HD.
360P and 480p don't pose much of a difference on even the best monitor's for me.

While i can REAAALY see the big different between standard definition dvd movies and Blu-ray Movies, Just because of the High definition television requirements.
1280x720 for 720P and 1920x1080P for 1080P regarldess both 720 and 1080 are very good picture quality and almost everything in this house has got some HD qualifying tech in it.

Ranging from 4 Tv's the 1 Desktop and 1 Laptop.
thats about it really.

But youtube....I have not notice the difference on a 1920x1080 resolution, of 480P to 720P
But sometimes i can see a better crispyness and w/e you may call it for 1080P

Depending on the video....

Perhaps this is all about the quality of Camera your shooting with...
or is it streaming alone.

I've never had this problem while streaming a Blu-ray movie from the sony store on my ps3.
in 1080 and 480, i see the difference even from 360 and 576

I'm no expert, but I think it's like you said, it's about the camera you use. I mean I would imagine a 1080p video shot with a pocket HD cam would look nothing like a 1080p video taken by some extremely expensive professional video camera. But some youtubers really do use professional-ish camera's that I think do look better. And when watching phone reviewer's videos, I can see a difference between the 480p and 720p.
Some people are just upscalling standard def video to hd video thinking it will improve quality, it really doesn't, video quality can only be as good as the source.

Like other have said it depends on the camera and good the optics are and whatnot. Also on the encoding settings and format can play a role. After that youtube makes their own changes and bringing down the bitrate the quality.

And you can see a difference on the ps3 since the store uses different bitrates and formats, flash sucks.
The resolution of the video is most likely 720p and 1080p but the compression which youtube uses makes it look very poor quality.
i see small differences, but what i personally notice is sound quality.
yeah!!!!! and even the new changes are bad done by youtube, i am really dissapointed
