I would like to build a reasonably priced tower using a dual processor motherboard with AMD 64 bit processors and having 8 to 16 gigs of memory and room for a decent sound and graphics cards..   Living in the South Pacific makes it a little difficult for me to research what I will be needing or talking to others who like to do many of the things I do.  Here knowledge is money and no one wants to part with anything that they can sell or make money from..  Being an old retired navy Chief, I have always believed that knowledge should be dispensed liberally as the whole society advances with the individual.

@Joshua I have the Lian-Li pc-a17 and I absolutely adore it.
I was sold on it because of all the drive bays, aluminum, top 120mm fan and top-mounted psu

Before that I had the PC-v1000b, that thing was beautiful, but massive.
Definitely go aluminum, I know I'll never look back.
If you want sleek, I'd check out the the:
a17
antec p182
nzxt panzerbox
Good luck with the build!

Built mine from scratch.
New stuff planned for Christmas this time around is just an SSD (OCZ Vertex 2, 60GB) and a HAF-X. Will be sleeving my entire PSU white. Should look sick.

ICore7 920 with Win7/SBS2003/WinXP on a RAID 0 running 1 year now, without any crash... technology is finally ready to handle me :-)

wow! it's hard for me to imagine how they'll be able to stick anything running at 2 GHz in a device like that with no heatsink/fan.

Next iPad Will Sport a Cortex A9 Processor

Apple left a lot of room for criticism with its first generation iPad, not the least of which is the inability for widespread multitasking (at least until the next OS update). But while we can fault Apple for leaving out essentials like upgradeable storage, USB ports, cameras, and Flash support, one area that hasn't come under fire is the custom A4 processor based on ARM's Cortex A8 design. The iPad just feels responsive, whether you're flipping through pages of apps or scrolling through hundreds of photos.

Come 2011, the magical tablet from Cupertino will be even faster. According to Digitimes Research senior analyst Mingchi Kuo, the upgraded 9.7-inch iPad slated for a Q1 2011 release will boast a new ARM Cortex-A9 based processor along with twice the amount of RAM at 512MB.

Depending on how Apple customizes the Cortex A9 chip, the company could have a very potent tablet on its hands. The Cortex A9 processor is available as either a single-core or configurable multi-core processor (up to four cores) running at 2GHz. In terms of clockspeed alone, that's twice as fast as the current-gen iPad's A4 processor.

Meanwhile, we're still left twiddling our thumbs waiting for everyone else to release their own handheld tablet PCs, a bevy of which have been announced for a late 2010 launch.
