Nice looking paint job. Hope the guts work as good or better than the outside looks.

yeah it is. My buddy that I worked with a few years ago does it on the side. He does a lot of hot rods and stuff too.

last pc i built, mmmm lets see, i believe it was my m8 roberts pc, he was a cheap git and cheaped out on a few things. Specs to follow :)

Cosmos sport 1000 case
800 watt corsair psu
asrock twin mobo ( quad capbile, and ddr 3 )
4gbs of ddr2 800mhz (see the skimping)
ati radeon 4870 512mb
1tb samsung spinpoint 32meg cache
ide sony dvd rw ( i know he wouldnt go a quid for sata)
52 in 1 card reader
intel q6600, overclocked to 3.3 ghx ( on air)
and running vista 64bit.

USED FOR........................ absolute nothing, he stuck the poor thing in a cupboard and it has only been used like 5 times.

I feel its pain, poor poor system, a few tweeks and it would be perfect for me aswell.

thought id share :)

So far these are the items that I have compiled;
Raidmax Smilodon ATX Case with 500W Power Supply (ATX612-WBP),
OCZ GameXtream 700 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply (OCZ700GXSSLI),
Barracuda 500GB 7,200RPM Serial ATA-300 Hard Drive (ST3500641AS-RK ),
Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2500:1,
LG Black DVD Burner (GH22LP20).

Currently I am awaiting and amassing the remaining monies. When I have the available funds I will make the appropriate decision on motherboard (ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 DDR3 AMD 790GX ATX AMD Motherboard), cpu (AMD Phenom II X4 Socket AM3 Black Edition Processor), memory (OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory), and cpu cooler (XIGMATEK Dark Knight-S1283V 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler). I will do much more research before buying these components, probably sometime in May 2009. I am definately leaning towards AMD ( more bang for the buck), AM3, and DDR3 as this will give me some future upgrade room. I will also add a good video card, but this is another future upgrade.

I'm considering making this my new build. I'm open to any and all suggestions and comments. I probably won't get to complete it until Christmas. This computer will be used for a variety of things; i.e., web surfing, gaming, media/graphics, and some software beta testing among other things. I would like to run Vista Ultimate 64 on this machine, or maybe I should say multiple operating systems. I already have the case w/500w psu, a monitor and two DVD burners, and am collecting parts as money becomes available. Money is an issue and I am trying to keep this build under $500. Oh yeah, the prices are only an approximate. Also, the reason I am leaning towards an AMD processor is price and performance. If there is an Intel Core 2 Duo processor that is comparable in price and performance to this one I would be open to suggestions.
