I don't know.. ever since Pulseaudio started getting more prominent in Linux releases, audio has gotten funky.

Ubuntu is terribly user friendly, even on install. If you can install Windows, you can install Ubuntu. Even the uninitiated can follow the install prompts. All you need to do is burn a copy of the 9.04 CD and boot it from your new computer. You'll want to watch partitioning your current Windows system however but Ubuntu will even do that for you too.

I'm new to Geeks -- want to try Ubuntu --- don't know how.
I ordered a new HP dv7t --- lots of speed and memory.
I'm not a computer dummy --- I AM dense, usually for lack of clarity.
Are you articulate? patient? like spreading your Ubuntu skills?
Check my profile -- I'm sure you'll get the drift, and I'd enjoy being a student at my age -- I taught many students as old as I at the University of Texas.

Today I installed 9.04 on two desktops and one Toshiba Satellite. Whew!
