Phill -

I have done that, and still no luck. I have filezilla, i changed the file attributes to the wp content directory, as well as to the plugin directory, as well as to the sourcemanager.php file.
Using filezilla i am not sure hwo to run the command like you said, but I right clicked and did File Attributes, changed the permissions to 777, and checked the box to recurse into subdirectories.

One thing that is weird, after I do that, if i right click and do file attributes it shows the perm at 755.

I tried to enter a "custom command" in filezilla that was this:

Command: SITE chmod -R 777 wp-plugins/*
Response: 550 SITE CHMOD command failed.

I was able to change the other directories on my site to 777 to install the theme. zackluby.com is my website. I don't think my host is blocking the 777 or anything.

I totally appreciate your help. Also, not sure if you noticed my comment about the simple pie, but i don't have that directory and I am not sure if i need it.

Thanks!

Zack,

When I said to change the permissions on the directory, I meant the SourceManager directory. Make sure you change it to 777 and make sure it is done recursively. At this point I am thinking that the permissions of the directory in question are either 666 or 655 and they should be 777. If you have SSH/Root access to the server do the following:

1. Log-In via SSH
2. "cd" to the WordPress wp-content directory.
3. Run the following command: chmod -R 777 wp-plugins/*

The command you ran will change the permissions in the directory to 777 recursively. The "-R" flag tells the system to chmod recursively.

i can literally see the .php file in the plugins directory. I actually do not see simplepie anywhere in the wicketpixie theme folder that I downloaded (the other tutorials reference it, but i can't find it in the version that i dl'ed). Just thought of that, trying to give all the info that I can to get some help!

Thank you for the quick response! I appreciate it. I do have the permission set to 777 - I did not have it set there at first, but had to set it there to get the file into the directory (wp-content/plugins).

Any ideas?

Zack,

For testing sake change the permissions of the source manager directory to 777. I think you permission are currently set to disallow read/write access to that directory.

Hello -

I am not able to get the sourcemanager plugin to work - I am adding it to the plugin folder on WP, it shows that it's in there in filezilla, but i can't see it in WP when i go to activate it.

I also do not see the simplepie plugin that shows in garrycon's installation instructions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
