Vista: A mistake or a success

In 2006 microsoft released its operating system called Windos Vista. In many ways vista is very similar to Windows 7 but vista is alot slower an has more bugs. In my opinion i think they should have just waited until Windows 7 because its exactly the same just a different design and structure. What do you think Mistake or Success

Considering that many of us are already using Windows 8, I think this question is totally outdated.
