Decimus replied to Matt S.'s discussion 'Gimp or Photoshop?'
"Photoshop is expensive, like everything else Adobe makes. I use GIMP because it's free. No hate against Photoshop though (besides the expensiveness of it). If I just want to do something fast, I just use Paint.NET."

Paul replied to Matt S.'s discussion 'Gimp or Photoshop?'
"How is Photoshop supposed to be free? It costs about 700$ or 1000$ for the Extended Edition. Geez, do you think that a computer is free, too?"

"Photoshop takes 'forever' to learn, but is by far the most powerful tool out there. Picture It is definately a nice MSOffice tool. Your version must just be too old. : ( 2003 or later should work. Your link = OMG"

"There is no comparison, but Photoshop will cost you. Simple, if Gimp was so great, professionals would use it, but they don't. Case closed."

Priscilla Flores replied to Matt S.'s discussion 'Gimp or Photoshop?'
"I don't have anything against Gimp, it just crashed on me a lot, I don't know why, it messed up so much to a point where it wouldn't even open anymore. But I have Photoshop CS5, I don't have any problems with it, I just wish I…"

Prevent your Geek related Computing Pains!

Posted on January 5, 2009 at 5:19am 0 Comments

Computing-related pain is very common in both the average computer user as well as in some that use a computer for many hours a day, whether it be in the workplace, or at home. Carpel Tunnel of the wrists, neck pain, back pain, tendinitis or forearm pain are all complications resulting from the repetitive motions computing entails and from poor posture while using a computer. With this said, we all aren't doomed for a painful computing death. There are some simple steps to take for those… Continue

AT&T Downgrading 2g/EDGE Service, Leaving Many Customers in the Dust

Posted on January 3, 2009 at 1:00pm 0 Comments

Yes, it seems the time has come where 2g breaths it's last breath. While AT&T hasn't stated they are killing EDGE service, they have stated, according to Gizmodo that \"AT&T is downgrading its EDGE/2G service to the weaker 1900 MHz band."

I want my iPhone gloves now!

Posted on January 3, 2009 at 11:00am 1 Comment

Could this be another product to be revealed next week at Macworld? Apple recently patented the design of "iPhone capable" gloves and as stated on Engadget, "it details a glove with a thin, electrically conductive, "anti-sticky" inner layer that is able to function with a capacitive touchscreen. It also suggests the glove could have… Continue

Upgrading Success!

Posted on January 3, 2009 at 10:24am 5 Comments

After receiving and installing 4 gigs of ram and a Geforce 9500 GT graphics card from Newegg, all is well for my brothers computer. One downside was that his Dell Dimension desktop only allocates 3.3 gigs of ram being that his system is only 32 bit. Oh well. Ram was only around $20 anyway and went in pretty easily.

In terms of the new graphics card, we had some troubles. After removing and disabling the old graphics card and drivers, we took off the case, ripped out the old one and… Continue

Hidden Easter Egg in Google iPhone App

Posted on January 2, 2009 at 6:48am 3 Comments

Those people at Google are dirty tricksters! To think this went unnoticed for so long! Hidden in the Settings menu of the Google iPhone App is a menu called "Bells and Whistles." Once activated, you can change the menu color, change the default sound to a monkey or chicken (which is quite entertaining I may add), enable a live… Continue
