Profile Information

What kind of geek are you?
I'm the "odd pastimes" kind of geek.
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
I know and enjoy things that most people would never consider, much less care to do.
How did you find out about our Geek community?
Followed your YouTube channel for the last year.
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
Plenty of tech, but more geeky are my blacksmith shop, my self build, prehistoric wooden bows, and my metal working shop, for making everything from armor to obsolete automobile body panels. It's all just hobby level stuff, but it gets me some strange looks, when I mention it in conversation.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Aragorn would be nice, but I'd settle for simply being non-bored.
What makes you laugh?
Those who take themselves too seriously.
What is the thing in life you treasure most?
The 'My Hero' look my wife sometimes gets, when someones pushed her a little too hard, and I have to intervene.
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
I once built myself a complete shirt of ring-mail.

I taught myself to knit, then to hand spin wool, then built a spinning wheel.

I taught myself to tie flies, then to make bamboo fly-rods, then decided I didn't really enjoy fly-fishing, all that much.
What do you do to entertain yourself?
I learn new and obscure crafts and try to become proficient.
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
Way too varied to put down here, although almost anything with swords and wizards (whether old or new) will do. The thin man movies, based on the Dashel Hammit books, are some of my favorites, too. Myrna Loyd was a real dish!
