So by the stroke of luck I happened to come upon an acer aspire one the other day that was just too good of a deal to pass up. So.....after the debacle of x64 and wireless drivers (check out my last post), I installed the x86 version of the RC tonight. The first thing I can say is that boot and shut down times have increased dramatically. My vista partition takes a good 20-25 seconds to get from the loading screen to the welcome screen, with win 7 its now a cool 10 seconds at most. I've been using Linux off and on for a few years now...I'll use it for a few months....take it off.........put it back on when there's a major release....etc. I've leaned pretty much towards Ubuntu because of the user base, but I gotta tell ya....I'm exhausted from having to deal with some things tonight.
