Could there be such a thing as the modern day version of a super hero?

Posted on May 9, 2010 at 8:44pm 1 Comment

I can't help but notice over the last few years how more and more movies about super hero's have been released. It started with somewhat of a "rebirth" of the genre with Spiderman, and we had X-men, Daredevil, Batman and Superman reboots. While most of these movies stayed fairly accurate in they're portrayal of the story that most of us as geeks know, the moods of all the movies all had one thing in common. At one point or another, the hero becomes hated by the people they're trying to serve… Continue

my new palm pre...

Posted on September 19, 2009 at 8:25pm 2 Comments

So after having my windows mobile pda for the last 3 and a half years, I finally decided to take the plunge and upgrade my phone. I looked at my options as I am a sprint user, and realized that A windows mobile phone just wasn't for me anymore as they had become even more bloated than what my ppc6700 was. So, I went with the palm pre. I was a little worried about the keyboard at first as my ppc had a full size (for a phone anyway) slide out keyboard, it was a dream to text on. The pre has a… Continue

My new netbook...

Posted on May 29, 2009 at 8:14pm 1 Comment

So by the stroke of luck I happened to come upon an acer aspire one the other day that was just too good of a deal to pass up. My old hp laptop was seriously in need of replacement but I didn't use it enough for me to warrant spending the cash on a new laptop. The thought of a netbook had crossed my mind a few times before this, but didn't wanna take the plunge and then regretting it because of the limitations. But, I think i found the common ground. My acer has the atom cpu, 1gb of ram, 160gb… Continue

My "new" impressions of WIN 7

Posted on May 6, 2009 at 7:35pm 5 Comments

So.....after the debacle of x64 and wireless drivers (check out my last post), I installed the x86 version of the RC tonight. The first thing I can say is that boot and shut down times have increased dramatically. My vista partition takes a good 20-25 seconds to get from the loading screen to the welcome screen, with win 7 its now a cool 10 seconds at most. Another thing I like about Win 7 is the subtle changes to the taskbar, more specifically if you use Media player for your media library.… Continue

Ubuntu....its a love hate thing...

Posted on May 2, 2009 at 11:01pm 0 Comments

I've been using Linux off and on for a few years now...I'll use it for a few months....take it off.........put it back on when there's a major release....etc. I've leaned pretty much towards Ubuntu because of the user base, but I gotta tell ya....I'm exhausted from having to deal with some things tonight. Granted wireless problems are mostly driver issues, but sometimes its just not gonna happen.

My case in point. I built my new rig about 4 months ago. Vista has used my wireless card… Continue
