Windows 200 Setup Displays Non- existent Partitions

The hard disk storage space is allowed to be partitioned into maximum of four primary partitions. These primary partitions are defined by respective 16-byte entries that form the hard disk partition table. It is located in disk MBR (Master Boot Record). When you install Windows or any service pack on your computer hard disk, the setup checks disk partition table for consistency.

If it finds any errors with the table, it extracts incorrect partition information and displays… Continue

"The Invention of Lying" A Review

Imagine living in a world with no concept of fiction; no one has ever thought to tell a lie, there's not even a word for it. Of course when you have no concept of fiction you also have no fictional books, no acting, no art, no sarcasm, and even no religion (I'm sure some people will froth at the mouth over this). You have a world where everybody is as good as their word, and if someone says it, it must be true. Now imagine that you learn how to lie, and you have the basic premise of “The… Continue

Honors Kids-World's Biggest Misnomer

My classmates. They are life's true enigma to me. After all, if I am the "cream of the crop", as the teachers say, then why am I treated like shoe crud? Out of all my honors classes (I'm in 4, and it's my sophomore year), I noticed that I seem to be treated like a "handle with care package". I have some of the highest grades and best test scores in the classes, nay, the school, and yet I am still widely disregarded and ignored. Why am I and the few nerdy kids in my classes treated… Continue

Confessions of a realist!

As I sit in this coutch, watching these women on television speaking of the lord and his goodness, speaking of our need of awakening, awakening and remembering our father, I realise that i have drifted apart from him at a time in my life in which i needed him the most. I think of his goodness and his love for me over the years, but clearly i have forgotten the man who has stood by me through thick and thin. The man whom i have cried to on many sleepless nights, under many occasions, and when i… Continue

Tea Time

This I know has nothing to do with tech, but I figured I take the time to speak about my favorite drink. I love tea, I love it hot or cold. Sweetened and unsweetened. For many people tea is preferred when in a restaurant, or just to drink around the home. I drink it because it’s healthier than a soda, but lately I’ve been indulging myself with soda, Cherry Dr.Pepper to be exact.

As I sit here at my computer I have my glass of tea… Continue

My Interest - A Windows Into My Life

I figured I’d take the time to say some of my interest. People often find it funny that I still watch Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. This is because at heart I’m still pretty much a kid. I find shows like Drake & Josh, and iCarly to be hilarious. and yes I do watch SpongeBob, LOL. I’ll watch Johnny Test on CN, and of course later when Adult Swim comes on I’ll watch Family Guy, King of the Hill, and especially Robot Chicken.

I love anime, Big O is pretty good, my favorite of… Continue

Windows 7 Release

What is happening on Oct. 22, 2009?

Well if the title doesn’t answer it then I don’t know what to tell you, it’s the release of Windows 7. The successor to Windows Vista, what 7 promises to bring to the table is faster loading time, new codec support, new taskbar, and reliability. It’s everything Windows Vista wasn’t and in many was is what Vista should have been. Now Vista was not an Epic Fail, like Windows ME, but more of a smudge between Windows XP… Continue

Is the bookstore the new library?

I'm here at the Barnes & Noble cafe and all around me are folks are flipping through books and magazines off the shelves whilst sipping their lattes. I don't think they plan on buying.

I remember as a little girl going into a Barnes & Noble for the first time and seeing what looked like very large dining room tables in between the aisles. I was really confused, were they really actually inviting people to sit down? It looked like the library. I couldn't comprehend why they'd… Continue

DropBox iPhone and iPod touch!

I like using DropBox since it was released. I like it so much because it makes my life easier at school.

The reason I like DropBox

1.Every time I need to bring my pendrive around me, it makes me feel uncomfortable, but with DropBox, I can log on to internet and get my school works!

2.A good backup for my documents and exe programs. Some times I lost my pen drive, I don know where did I put, so DropBox is very useful for a sloppy person like me. I would… Continue

Dust Storm - Sydney

For those unaware, we had a dust storm... Woke up on 23 September 2009, to find everything bathed in an eerie red glow. Sydney was smothered by thick cloud of fine red dust, carried by strong winds from inland NSW.

By mid-morning, the red hue was gone but the dust storm still raged. This was not fog...

Thank goodness, the storm has cleared the next day and we've got back our blue skies... Sydney, crap one day, gorgeous… Continue

Public Option Murdered by Threatened Filibuster

Today the Senate Finance Committee voted down a public option for the health care bill. There are many statistics claiming that a majority of Americans favor this option which would provide health care for about forty million Americans. I happen to be one of the vast majority of Americans that supports the public option even though I'm not among those who are not fortunate enough to have health care.

In a perfect world, I would imagine that since the Democratic party has a "mandate"… Continue

Never leave a phone sitting near water when there is a 2 year old about.

The other night while I was bathing my son, he was sitting on my knee while his mum was drying him. I had left my blackberry sitting on the radiator, he grabbed the phone and threw it in the bath and there was a few inches of water left. I did not drop my son while diving for the phone, I just screamed like a little girl telling my wife to grab the phone. Lucky for me it was still in its holster but it was wet...very Wet. I took the battery, sim card and MicroSD card out, dried it with a hair… Continue

Early warning, Late response

Ever wonder how you feel something? Going about it scientifically, you touch something, the signal is created by the nerves, the signal is sent to the brain, the brain interprets the signal into a feeling… but why do you feel it in the exact spot? If the brain sends a signal back down to that spot, what happens to that signal? The signal would only cause the reaction, which would then need to be interpreted. You actually feel the object you touch, and it even happens instantly, but why? I guess… Continue
