I do not often get in to the habit of badmouthing companies. However, I've recently been aware of the privacy concerns that many people have echoed against facebook. These are legitimate concerns. What it all boils down to is trust and recently facebook has basically been spitting in the face of the people who have trusted the site for years. I won't go in to too much detail because you can read about this elsewhere from countless sources on the Internet. I even overheard a lengthy discussion… Continue
About 3 years ago, A history class in Toronto, Canada made a fake Cold War-Era radio broadcast simulating nuclear war. I think it so fits for Halloween! Here Is what I recommend you should do.
As some of you may know, I was recently in a contest sponsored by local Seattle-based radio station, 107.7 The End. The concept was to become the city's greatest "End"fluencer by competing in a series of challenges to prove influence.
The prize: $5,000 awarded by station sponsor Miller Lite.
The contest consisted of three Challenges:

It's about to be 1am (PST) pretty soon and I'm still wondering right now. I'm wondering if I should put all my dough on a Zune HD which actually came out today until the stores open. It's a newer model of the Zune family which is now touch-screen capable and also plays HD videos within the player.
The one thing that bothers me a lot is gapless playback. I've noticed when I was playing music through the Zune software, it would always pause between songs causing it to make a gap. I'm… Continue
Just in case you weren't aware, Langleyo is a Radio Geek as well as a Computer Geek! We radio hams combine the best of both worlds, using computers to experiment with sending data transmissions worldwide with, or without wires. Heck, I've been using wireless networks since the mid 1980's! You think mobile internet is the latest "Big Thing"? We've been doing it for years! It taught me a lot about how the internet functions.…
Look, I've used profane language a lot. On Geeks i've usually censored those words with stars, the amount of them equalling to the amount of letters in that particular word. And I use a lot of profane language, uncensored, on my blog.
On the internet, profanity does not bother me. On TV it does not bother me. On the street it does bother me. On the radio it bothers me A LOT.
I don't know why it bothers me on the radio more than on TV. Maybe I take the radio as a serious… Continue

So, I realized something that is really interesting:
While listening to the radio, I like the songs I hate which are in my playlist on my iPhone/in iTunes.
For example, I had MGMT's "Kids" in my playlist and every time it came on I skipped it. I honestly hated it. But when it came on the radio a few minutes ago I sang along to it and hummed the melody!
Why is that so and has this ever happened to you? You hate the music when it's in your playlist but love it… Continue

Hi guys, I've just started up my own live radio show at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/optimumtech. I really need your comments on it, as it is not 24/7, as I do not have the time, you'll need to check the schedule on the page and all times are GMT (The current time in London ;)) All comments are welcome.
Thanks guys,
Jamie Luca

Well I have been wanting to start a group here at geeks for some time now but I never really could find something that hasn't already been done and that I wanted to do until now. So I made a group for Pandora Internet Radio users.
I am a huge Pandora user and fan, when I went to search for a group I was shocked not to find one already created so I have made the group and gave it a jump start to get it rolling. So if you use Pandora get on the members list.
How do you make money online? Of course you could try doing those surveys, or using adsense on you blog. Don’t get me wrong, that will work. But, if you want to make more money, it’s not hard to do.
You can get paid to review products you already have in your house! If you’re a geek like me, you already have a lot of gadgets or just stuff, which you could get paid to do video review on.
Expo TV pays anywhere from $5 on up for your reviews. No need to be a “professional”, just… Continue
How do you edit documents and photos online? Maybe you use Google Docs or a similar service, but you may want to take a look at OpenitOnline.
It's a simple addon for Firefox and IE 6 and up, that allows you to do just that.
Open IT Online is a Firefox extension that allows to open and edit your documents from everywhere. When Firefox encounters one of the file types supported by…

Want to really be considered a geek? Become an amateur radio operator! Amateur radio, often referred to as “ham radio”, is like CB (citizen band) radio but on different frequencies and regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). To transmit on these reserved frequencies you must take a test from the FCC about basic transmission practices and technical skills. There are three levels of amateur radio operators: Technician, General, and Extra. Each level allows you to transmit on… Continue

As my late xmas gift to all you Sci-Fi and War Of The Worlds fan's, I thought I would post the Audio from the 1938 Radio Broadcast of War Of The Worlds as narrated by the late and great Orson Welles.
On the evening of October 30th 1938, Orson Welles and the players of his Mercury Theatre were preparing to broadcast the latest in their series of weekly literary adaptations. The Halloween production of H.G.Wells' The War Of The Worlds should have been no different to any that had…Continue
