3 terabytes, brought to you by western digital

I was looking around the net and I came across this article http://usingwindowshomeserver.com/2010/10/05/western-digital-new-us...
which details an item that's been launched by western digital. a 3 terabyte external hard drive with usb 3.0 capabilities. Think I'll grab one later on when the price drops.

I still don't see the point to a 3TB hard drive. I consider myself A pretty hefty media guy, but I'd still have no use for a 3tb drive. Besides that, the issue of redundancy comes up. If I were gonna have 3tb of storage, I'd have separate drives in a raid configuration so the data can be rebuilt should one fail. However why someone would WANT a 3TB External (ie. stealable) drive is beyond me.

ah, wow, cool stuff! seems like they were the first group to get that done. Geeze, a general estimate of 1,500 video games, acording to media.seagate.

Seagate came out with one before Western Digital did. I would check their prices also.
