5 Awesome Reasons Businesses Should Twitter

There are many reasons why you should Twitter and then there are those that will argue your reasons and say that Twitter is pointless and a waste of time. Here are my top 5 reasons why you should Twitter.

1. Twittering brings exposure to your brand.
Example: You URL in your profile will bring new hits to your website and create more exposure to those you might not have been able to target before.

2. Twitter provides a way to track your brands reputation via hashtags (the #)

3. Twitter is full of amazingliy intelligent people that are willing to help you if you run into a problem.

4. Twitter provides you with new contacts that you might not get from MySpace or Facebook

5. Twitter is where people are and you want your brand to be where people are...enough said!

Hope this encourages new peeps to Twitter more!

I've been using Twitter for a few months at the Community Theatre where I work. I was running the box office tonight and someone mentioned that she heard about our student walk-up prices because of a tweet I made last week. So that's one ticket we may not have sold otherwise. I'm now trying to get people to tweet about our production of Rocky Horror for a chance to win tickets.

Yes I agree. That is what I use Twitter for - up to the minute research with my favorite companies - large, medium size and small. Plus it is great to keep track of all of my techie friends for all of that great insider tech info for anything hardware and software. Twitter is an underutilized tech tool that is a rising star of usefulness.
