A Programmers Journey: iPhone Development, xCode and Linux!

Today i have been hanging around for a bit.

I have been doing programming all week, so i thought it would be  good idea to take a break for a while.

But tonight im  doing some more! Good to be back programming.

So, i have disided i would make a iPhone app.

I don't know what of, but i know it will be a iPhone app. So i start up xCode and start a new project.

Once i have the new project i make  GUI in the XIB file and just experiment. The annoying issue i have right now is when i go to compile. I compile in iPhone OS 3.31. When the app launches it shows a black screen for about 20 seconds or so and  then it would exit.

It does not do this on my existing projects!
Oh well, i will just work on my current projects.

I have also been thinking of building a system with these specs:
i5 Core 2.9

4GB Ram.

500 GB HDD

Windows 7 & Linux (Kubuntu).

GTX 460 2GB SLI

So thats pretty nice specs for a linux machine. Right now im saving for the parts, so it should not take too long till i have this machine!
Right now im using a iMac G4 to post this blog post.

I would love to be using any form of KDE but don't have any PC's suitable to run it.

So yeah....

Right now im learning how to make Page Controls in xCode.

This could take a while considering!

This may be the blind leading the blind, as I've never compiled anything in x-code before.

But, have you updated your iPhone's OS recently?  You may have to set this in x-code somewhere as the destination device, and/or download a new SDK?  Just guessing.

Is there a logging feature in x-code?  Like 'stdout()'?

If so, trying putting a bunch of those in your code to narrow down where your code stops.
