Tablet computers, also known as Slate PC's, are becoming more and more popular in today's
vastly expanding market. Currently the only available and most talked about Tablet device of it's kind, is
the Apple I-Pad. While it may be another successful product from
Apple, it is certainly haunted by the increasing Number of tablet
devices that are coming this year. At the CES 2010 Steve ballmer
introduced the new line of “Slate PC”s also referred to as Tablet
computers. Ballmer demonstrated one device in particular from HP.
This device which was later scrapped by HP after it's acquisition of
Palm Pre, is a slate device much like the I-Pad but running Windows
7. However Rumour also had it that the HP Slate was heading for a
disastrous launch, as the operating system was generally sought as
unfit for the new line of Multi-touch tablet computers.
But it seems among the many competitors one company, know as Notion Ink has demonstrated their Adam tablet, a device running Google' new Android 2.2 Operating System, and it is a
very Promising competitor for the I-Pad, something the HP Slate is no
longer. The Adam Tablet is a 10.1 Inch Device, with one of the first
ever used PixelQi display's, allowing the device to be easily used
even in the bright sunlight, But what makes this Device such a great
competitior? It's features! The Adam Tablet carries along with it a
180-Degree 3.2 MegaPixel Swivel Camera, that is not only capable of
taking good quality Pictures, but it can also be used to record media
as well. And that's not at all, the Adam tablet is using Nvidia's new
Tegra 2 chip, allowing for full 1080P High definition media, as well
as hardware acceleration and an outstanding battery life performance
with over 140 Hours of Audio and 16 Hours of HD Video Playback. Not
to mention a dual-core ARM 9 Processor. This device is a fast one.
Both devices are to be offered in both standard and 3G models. Only time will tell as to which device will
come out on top, All can be said is, it does look very promising, and
impressive so far as demonstrated by Notion Ink. The Device is
Expected to Launch in November 2010. For more Information on Both the
Apple Ipad and the upcoming Adam tablet be sure to visit both
companies websites, at Apple.com and Notionink.com. Only Time will
tell who will be crowned King of the Tablet market.
