If you haven't failed, you're not trying hard enough. ~Unknown

If you are actively pursuing your dreams, you've probably already experienced some level of failure. The great thing about failure is that it just means you're not there yet, not that you won't get there. Wear your failure on your sleeve as a badge of honor!

SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE FAIL: It's all part of the process and there's nothing wrong with having tried and having failed. As Samuel Becket says: "Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

IT'S ALL ABOUT CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: If you've failed, you've learned something valuable. You've learned how not to do it. There is no such thing as a path to success, you have to find your own way and, while you can make educated guesses, it's not always clear which way you should go until you find out the path you're on is a dead end. No problem, just try a different direction and keep moving forward.

YOU WILL FAIL - SO WHAT: Thomas Edison, holder of 1093 patents, tested 3000 types of filaments before he was successful in developing one for the incandescent light bulb. If he'd given up, he'd be a world class failure. Instead, he's a famous inventor, because he didn't give up despite all his failures. Failure only matters if you give up after failing!

YOU FAILED, LET'S HAVE A PARTY: Sorry, no one wants to come to your pity party. Acknowledge the loss, learn what you could have done better, than move on. But if you want to have a brainstorming session I'll be there in a millisecond, and I'll even buy the drinks.

MEET MR. OR MRS. PERFECT: Yeah, right over there, standing next to the pink dragon.

FAILURE MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON: Once you fail, don't you try harder the next time to succeed? I know I do. I hate to lose and do everything in my power to make sure it doesn't happen again. For me, the occassional failure is a strong motivator to do better. It sharpens my desire not to fail again.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed
is always to try just one more time." -Thomas Edison

How have you overcome failure?

Cheers!

When I get old and look back on my life I would rather look at a long list of failures with some successes thrown in than a short list of only successes. I would then know that I have lived a full and interesting life.

I'm only a failure because I am too much of a perfectionist!!
