My favorite laptop maker, Asus, has annouced three tablets at computex. The question is whether or not they will compete with the ipad.
The first one up is the Asus Eee Tablet:
PictureThis is more or less an e-reader with the ability to take notes. The note taking feature has the ability to tag, sort, and store notes. It comes with a stylus, has a micro SD slot, and a 2 megapixel camera, and can sync via USB to a PC. It supposedly has a 10 hour battery life. The price will cost, according to Asus, between $199-$299.

hereNext up is the Asus Eee Pad EP101TC

This tablet runs some version of Windows CE, and is powered by an NVIDA Tegra. Although at the moment, it seems as though the interface is buggy, knowing Asus, they'll find a way to fix it. This also is claimed to have a 10 hour battery life, and will cost between $399 to $449.
Now for the one that is supposed to be the "Ipad Killer." Introducing the Asus Eee pad EP121:

Now, Asus apparently did not have a working version of this at Computex 2010, but the idea behind it is 12" tablet is interesting. Yes, this thing does run Windows 7 home premium, an interesting choice, especially since the HP slate dropped Windows 7. This tablet, however, has an Intel CULV Core 2 Duo processor inside. That added power, and the fact that Microsoft is working on the mulittouch upgrade for windows 7 may make this tablet a hit. The thing I was most impressed with was the
docking station. The docking station is a keyboard where the tablet fits right in, and
wholla! Its a notebook. A very nice bridge between tablets and notebooks.
This tablet comes with a stylus, what appears to be a four-in-one card reader, and a usb port. No price has been announced yet.
Here is a link to the engadget site where you can see a video of both versions of the Eee Pad:

The question is: Will these be good enough to take on the ipad? Only time will tell. Asus, however, has been known to impress.
