More Information

Hi all;

As noted above I am a computer consultant and commentator. Most things about the internet interest me and I am finding life on the internet as interesting as life out in the business world. I build systems etc. and design spreadsheets/database for companies in Southern Ontario. As I have often said to my friends I enjoy working for myself, but my boss is a slave driver.

I am also very interested in Canadian Federal Politics and that is the area of my education. Obviously, in Canada these are fascinating times for a political junkie like myself with the Federal government hanging by a thread. The American case is also worthy of note. Obama impresses me in that he is a straight ahead down to earth, "tell it like it is in terms the public can understand" sort of man. Certainly the honeymoon will wear off about the 100th day but I think he will do well, in no short measure because he has his wife Michelle to keep him levelled and balanced.

With respect to the economic situation, I fear it will be a long haul of cautious and measured policies to see the economy begin to recover. Ultimately, what is required is a Continental Economic approach between the U.S. and Canada and perhaps Mexico. Either that or a Global Economic Approach. Having said that I admit it will not happen any time soon and thus we will continue to endure cycles of Boom and Bust. Canadians do not wish to be Americans. We have made our own way quite nicely, although a close trading relationship with the U.S. is necessary and appropriate. Americans likewise have no interest in being Canadian, nor should they. ....they wouldn't understand our football.

Have a good weekend all and send me your thoughts. I am always interested.

I can't wait to see what the big bankers are going to do with the falling United States dollar value.

Good post!
