Do You Get Mad at Friends, Family ect Asking to Fix Their Computer All the Time?

So I installed a software program for my mom on her computer (because I'm such a "genius"), now she has some trouble and thinks i caused this problem somehow.

I'm not actually mad; just a bit frustrated, but maybe next time I fix it with duck tape (lol).

Don't get mad... get paid.. LOL!!!!

But seriously, fixing computers are not all that is cracked up to be... some people are so ignorant on the subject and what actually frustrates me the most when they think they believe they know so it all and come to teach me about what I should do to fix it.... Now when someone asks me to fix their computers, I charge them... (except my mom... :P )

I don`t mind helping people fix there computer. What I can not stand is having to explain every thing I am doing. They never understand it anyway and it takes me twice as long to do the job. PEOPLE I fix computers. I do not teach computer classes. LOL

Depends who, Ive had people call me up to fix something, I tell them what to do, they do it wrong and call me stupid.

My friend isnt the smartest on the computer but she doesnt complain and blame others. Thats why I like her :P

ha ha yah Knowman, so my brother works for a school district and says he got a work order to fix a computer for a teacher (says teachers are stupid).  when he got their it was in a million pieces and the teacher had taken it apart and does not know how to put it back together now so he had them 86 it.  people think that because you put something together that you know everything about it and all the software THEY put on it.

I have stopped "fixing" for relatives for years. I remembered during the Win95 years, this relavtive encountered some problem with Win95 startup. After fixing, they will say the mpeg player does not play smoothly. In those days, Win95 does not support video play. I don't remembered how I wormed my way out of this but I feel that if you expect a full performance for you pc just day 1, it should be reformatted and reinstall fresh! I also won't fix or build a PC for people that I don't interact much, like workplace colleague, ex-classmates or relatives that you seldom meet. If you do that, be prepared to provide lifetime "warranty" because you built it / fixed it and they have no problem hounding you anytime, anywhere especially now that everyone owns mobile phone......

Ha Ha thats so funny cause I have the same problem now... its not that much that its a problem with things to fix its just always being asked to find where they could download music and how to get games cause its my girlfriends kids that ask but then when theres a problem with the desktop cause it might be running a little slow ..... but thats only cause there running like 5 or 6 programs at the same time but I do like being complemented when I learn something knew to share..

I helped fix quite a numbers of computers for my relatives, and whenever there was a "ding dong" going on such as monitor not powered on, even the "404" error, I got the call 24/7.

Sometime I just wanna block their numbers

I created my mom a facebook, (at her request / demand) and she double clicks her notification icon and asks me why it wont stay up. I tell her not to double-click to just click once, and she double-clicks again. I tell her politely again "mom, just click on it ONCE". and she said "i did son!" and ... double-clicks it again.

I believe some people... just need a dummies book.
